Andrew is an architect, building scientist and software author. He is currently a Senior Principal Engineer at Autodesk working in AEC-Simulation on the relationship between BIM and building performance analysis. Previously he was co-founder and head of development at Square One research where he worked on many performance-driven building projects and authored a wide range of architectural science and analytical design software tools, including Ecotect.
Andrew studied architecture at the University of Western Australia and received his doctoral degree there. He has worked as an environmental analyst, environmental design consultant, lecturer in architectural science and computing at the University of Western Australia and then as a Research Fellow at Cardiff University in the United Kingdom, before starting his own software development company which was acquired by Autodesk in 2008.
Andrew is also creative director of this journal and regularly contributes research papers at international conferences and in other journals.
